  • Cosmic Cape Festival was conceived with the mission to cultivate a diverse and vibrant music scene in the Ellesmere Port, Chester, and North Wales region, while also fundraising for local charities. The festival serves as a stage where emerging talents share the spotlight with globally acclaimed touring artists.

    Now entering its third year, Cosmic Cape Festival is scheduled for July 20, 2024. In its inaugural year at Capenhurst Sports Club, the festival surpassed expectations, drawing over 1,600 attendees against a projected turnout of 900. In 2023, the festival found a new home at Brook Farm in Capenhurst, in collaboration with local live events promoter Out Of Phase, welcoming over 3,000 guests through the gates.

  • Cosmic Cape Festival was established and is overseen by a dedicated group of local individuals, driven by a commitment to enhance and elevate the profile of the region. Supported by Urenco Capenhurst, a local green energy company and main sponsor, the festival's managing team includes Luke Done, a musician and live booking agent in the music industry, and Tania Foster, the owner of Brook Farm and vice-chair of Capenhurst Parish Council.

    While the festival is sponsored to cover operational costs, the team, comprising Done and Foster, volunteer their time alongside their full-time commitments without drawing a salary. Over the past two years, Cosmic Cape Festival has raised over £23,000 for two primary charities.

    The first, Hospice of The Good Shepherd, is a familiar charity providing specialist palliative care to local individuals and supporting their families. The second, The Christie, is a specialist cancer centre in Manchester. The festival dedicates its fundraising efforts to researching gastro-oesophageal cancer in memory of Ellesmere Port local Callum Powell, who, as a passionate festival-goer and music lover, inspired the ongoing commitment to support The Christie after losing his battle with cancer in 2022.
